WashUReuse Surplus Property Software

WashU has signed up for an exciting new software platform that facilitates the internal recirculation of unwanted equipment, supplies, and furniture. WashUReuse is accessible by staff, faculty, and students across departments and campuses and will support peer-to-peer sharing, enabling users to quickly find an item they need and promoting the re-homing of unwanted items efficiently through the university. More information can be found by visiting the WashUReuse dedicated website at reuse.wustl.edu.

How to Become a User:

Signing up as a WashU user is easy – simply go to https://reuse.wustl.edu/login and log in with your WUSTL email address. This will launch you directly into your profile, where you can input your information and start browsing or creating your own surplus property listings.

NOTE TO USERSAs a user of the Rheaply tool and an employee of Washington University in St. Louis, you are responsible for adhering to your departmental policy on Surplus Property exchange. Employees must be authorized by their department to sell or donate items through the Rheaply Platform. Please contact your departmental supervisor to learn about any policies your department has on selling or accepting Surplus Property. Purchasing Services offers no warranty or guarantee on items listed.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR EXTERNAL SALE– Prior to the completion of the Surplus Property exchange, please verify with the “buyer” if the property will stay on university property or leave the property (i.e. situations where an employee is “buying” property for personal use). If Surplus Property leaves the university property, a signed Bill of Sale must be obtained prior to the close of sale and sent to Lisa Owens in Resource Management for filing. Contact Lisa Owens at owenslisa@wustl.edu for a Bill of Sale form.

ASSETS – If an item you want to post on Rheaply was purchased with federal funds, you would need to contact the Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) office. Because contracts and funds differ, SPA would need to review the information pertaining to your exact fund and would then determine if you could sell the item.

For questions regarding assets management/tagged items, please contact Cindy Bugg at 314.935.5618.

Please contact Lisa Owens with any questions at owenslisa@wustl.edu.
